Denae has a background in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a professor emerita at Cuesta College in the Addiction Studies, Social Work, and Human Services Department. She formerly served as the faculty lead for Addiction Studies and Human Services. She returned to Cuesta as an adjunct faculty teaching the Families and Addiction course and serves as the liaison for the Sudeal Grant.
