Between 2002 and 2005, the Youth Council Institute published bimonthly issues of the YCi Reporter, which featured YCideas; articles on national developments related to workforce development and other support services for youth; information on the Youth Council Institute activities; and updates on quality practices of youth practitioners, Youth Councils, educators, and others who serve youth. Also featured were reports on legislation in California and in Congress. YCi Reporter Last Issue
- Volume 15, Summer/Fall 2005

  • YCi - It's Been a Great Four Years! This last issue of the YCi Reporter features an update on the network, recent publications, notes from the YCi Forums, and links to additional support.

  • Letter from the Executive Directors: A letter from Steve Trippe (New Ways to Work) and Virginia Hamilton (CWA) highlights accomplishments of the YCi Network and provides and update on future activities and support for Youth Councils, Workforce Investment Boards, and local service providers.

  • YCi Regional Forums Summary Report: YCi sponsored a series of Regional Forums across the state to discuss state and federal direction and legislation affecting workforce programs for youth. This information was summarized into a report and presented to the CWIB by New Ways on behalf of local Youth Councils, WIBs, and service providers.

  • YCideas: A Compilation of Promising Practices: The Youth Council Institute has gathered over 60 YCideas - articles about promising practices being implemented in California communities in order to better support their young people - and compiled them into a single volume.

  • Upcoming New Ways and CWA Events and Activities: See a calendar of events and learn about continued opportunities to stay engaged in building comprehensive youth-serving systems.
